Parking
There is ample
parking on site and you may park where you wish. Handicap parking is available
in front of the building, with single level entrance. We have parking lot people
monitoring the lot during the service for your peace of mind. There are various
entrances into the building and as you become familiar with the facility you are
welcome to use any of them. If you are new to the place it may be most
convenient to enter through the center front entrance. There someone will greet
you and can help you with further directions around the building.
Children
Little ones from birth to age 4 can be brought downstairs before the service
begins for Mini-Lights (0-24
months) or Little Lights (ages 2-4). A
registration booth is in the fellowship hall just past the nursery doors.
Inquire there about further instructions and receiving ID tags for your
children.
If you have
children (Kindergarten to Grade 4) you may wish to register them for
Kidschurch. The registration booth
will be to your right as you enter the building. Children will be with you for
the first part of the worship service in the main auditorium. Ask about
instructions for dismissal to Kidschurch which will be announced in the middle
of the service.
The Worship Service
As
you enter the auditorium ushers can give you a church bulletin with information
on various ministries and can help you with seating, if you wish. Sit wherever
you will be comfortable. Entrances to the balcony are to the far right and left
of the front lobby, just follow the stairs. The atmosphere is casual so you may
wish to talk with those around you or move around a bit.
A worship leader will begin the service promptly at 10am, usually with
a music team. Up till then the auditorium will be busy with people chatting and
connecting. During the singing feel free to join in or simply listen. You will
see a variety of expressions as the gathering of people worship God. Most remain
standing throughout the music time. Some will raise hands, clap, or dance. And
children will wave flags up front.
At some point (usually after about 20 minutes of music) there may be
announcements, kids are dismissed and you may be invited to say hello to others.
Participate as you feel comfortable. An offering will be taken around this time.
If you are a guest we only expect you to fill in a communication card (available
at your seat) and deposit it in the basket as it goes by. If you wish to
contribute money you may use an envelope (also available at your seat) so that
we can receipt you for the donation.
The next part of the service is dedicated to teaching. This comes in the form of
a pastor or invited guest to share a message of encouragement and challenge from
the Bible, punctuated with engaging stories, for around 30 minutes. Then the
band usually returns for some closing songs of worship. Sometimes the time ends
with an opportunity for people to respond to the message by coming to the front
and receiving prayer as requested. In any case you will be dismissed to pick up
children or to meet other people. Coffee and tea is served in the back of the
auditorium on the main floor. Help yourself to some as you wonder around
throughout the auditorium or lobby.
