New Life Church offers two worship services each weekend. We
have a Saturday evening service that meets at 6pm, and a Sunday morning service
that meets at 10am. Both services provide a time of worship and the same
message, but differ in their atmosphere.
SATURDAY EVENING: 6pm
The Saturday worship service is an outreach for those who cannot attend church
on Sunday for one reason or another. For these people we want to offer the
opportunity to connect with God and the broader Christian community. The
Saturday worship service is held in Room 303 (The Youth Room) on the third
floor. The service has more of a ‘coffee-house’ feel and atmosphere. The smaller
room size affords a more informal environment and lots of opportunity to connect
with others. We serve ice-cream sundaes before the service. On the first
Saturday of the month we have a potluck supper before the service at 5pm. The
Saturday service begins at 6pm and usually ends around 7pm.
A full children’s program is available for kids on Saturday - from nursery up to
Grade 4. The children start out in the service and are dismissed halfway
through.
SUNDAY MORNING: 10am PARKING
There is ample parking on site, and you may park where you wish. Handicap
parking is available in front of the building, with single level entrance. We
have parking lot monitors in the lot during the service for your peace of mind.
There are various entrances into the building and as you become familiar with
the facility you are welcome to use any of them. If you are new to the church it
may be most convenient to enter through the center front entrance. We also have
ushers who will greet and help you with further directions around the building
if needed.
CHILDREN
Little ones from birth to age 4 can be brought downstairs before the service
begins for Mini-Lights (0-24 months) or
Little Lights (ages 2-4). A
registration booth is in the fellowship hall just past the nursery doors.
Inquire there for further instructions and for receiving ID tags for your
children.
If you have children (Kindergarten to Grade 4) you may wish to register them for
Kidschurch. The registration booth
will be to your right as you enter the building. Children will be with you for
the first part of the worship service in the main auditorium. Ask about
instructions for dismissal to Kidschurch (which will be announced in the middle
of the service).
THE WORSHIP SERVICE
As you enter the auditorium ushers will give you a
church bulletin with information on
various ministries, and can help you with seating if you wish. Sit wherever you
will be comfortable. Entrances to the balcony are to the far right and left of
the front lobby - just follow the stairs. The atmosphere is casual so you may
wish to talk with those around you or move around a bit.
The service begins at 10am, with the worship team leading songs of praise. Up
till then the auditorium will be busy with people chatting and connecting.
During the worship, feel free to join in or simply listen. You will see a
variety of expressions as the gathering of people worship God. Most remain
standing throughout the music time. Some will raise hands, clap, or dance. Some
children may wave flags up front.
At some point (usually after about 20 minutes of music) there may be
announcements. Kids are dismissed and you may be invited to say hello to others.
Participate as you feel comfortable. An offering will be taken around this time.
If you are a guest we only expect you to fill in a communication card (available
at your seat) and deposit it in the basket as it goes by. If you wish to
contribute money you may use an envelope (also available at your seat) so that
we can issue you a receipt for the donation.
The next part of the service is dedicated to teaching. This comes in the form of
a pastor or invited guest to share a message
of encouragement and challenge from the Bible, punctuated with engaging
stories, for around 30 minutes. Then the worship team will usually return for
some closing songs of worship. Sometimes the time ends with an opportunity for
people to respond to the message by coming to the front and receiving prayer as
requested. In any case you will be dismissed to pick up children or to meet
other people. Coffee and tea are served in the back of the auditorium on the
main floor. Help yourself to some as you wonder around throughout the auditorium
or lobby.
