Roy Berkenbosch is
the Director of the Micah Centre at The King’s University College and the
Pastoral Advisor for CRWRC. Roy teaches theology and mission studies and
works with several agencies committed to social justice and poverty
alleviation. He served a term with CRWRC in Bangladesh and remains actively
involved there with the Learning Circle of Partners. He and Grace are about
to move to rural Alberta to help support their children’s organic vegetable
farm.
Dr. Kurt Ver Beek
directs Calvin College's Third World Development Studies semester in
Honduras, has lived in Central America and been involved with development
and justice issues there for over 20 years, has conducted research on the
role of faith in development, the effects of Short-Term Missions, and more.
Kurt is also a co-founder and board member of the Association for a More
Just Society (AJS), a Christian justice organization that, over the last
five years has, among other things, won groundbreaking convictions in cases
involving torture of prison inmates and the assassination of a human rights
lawyer; and helped over 60,000 poor families obtain land titles.
Karen
Paul
serves as an Aftercare Intern in South Asia with International Justice
Mission, working with IJM’s social work team. International Justice Mission
is a non-profit Christian human rights agency whose mission is to protect
people from violent forces of injustice by securing rescue and restoration
for victims and ensuring public justice systems work for the poor. IJM
aftercare staff and trusted local aftercare partners work to ensure that
victims of oppression are equipped to rebuild their lives and respond to the
complex emotional and physical needs that are often the result of abuse.
