What is your general job description?
I supervise and actively am involved to ensure that all things in our building work properly and run smoothly. I perform and oversee maintenance duties inside and outside the building, make sure the grounds are kept tidy and in good repair (mow lawn, landscaping, flowers). I also assist the staff with set-up duties for meetings, etc., and supervise the work of our part-time janitor.
What type of education have you had?
Four years post-secondary at a Biblical Institute. I received a Pastoral Degree.
What other experiences have you had in life that help make you amazing at what you do?
I served as a pastor for a number of years and also in construction for six years.
What is your favourite part of the job?
That I see this as a service ministry and because of what I do, all church attendees can worship in a safe and clean environment.
What is your biggest goal with your position?
Simply to keep the routine of church activities going smoothly without anyone having concern about the facilites.
Who are your immediate family members?
Anita my beloved wife. My children are Petra Estelle Ibarra-Nagel, 16 - daughter; Jerry Hunt, 22 - son; Rachel (28) and Tim Luu (29) - step-daughter and spouse; Abby (26) and Ken (26) Baer - step-daughter and spouse. Boston Baer, 1 - adorable grandson.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Walk and hike, watch movies and review them. I'm also a self-confessed news and political "junkie".
What is one thing about you that most people don’t know.
I pray for each member of the church listed in our church directory once a week.
