How long have you been working at New Life?
19 years (started in July 1990)
What is your general job description?
Have worked as Office Manager and for the past 4 years as Administrative Assistant to the Office Manager with brief stints back as Office Manager.
What type of education/training have you had?
Office Assistant from Bellingham Technical School and lots of hands-on learning.
What other work experiences have you had in life that assist you in ministry?
Many gracious and patient people who have taught me aspects of computers and technology systems so I could learn as I go over the years.
What is your favorite part of the job?
Working with people who love God and time flexibility.
What do you hope to accomplish in your role?
To be able to support the other staff well.
Who are your immediate family members?
My husband Stuart retired 6 months ago. We have two sons, Shawn & Seth and 2 daughters, Krisha & Erin who are all married and have given us 13 grandchildren “our Bakker’s dozen” to love and spoil. Unfortunately, only 3 grandchildren live locally (Aldergrove). The rest are in Edmonton, Nampa, Idaho and Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to garden, cross-stitch, walk, do word puzzles, read and travel to see my kids and grandkids.
What is one thing about you that most people don’t know about you?
I grew up on a farm.
